My original sketches for PB and Marceline’s costumes in the upcoming Adventure Time 44 minute finale, “Come Along With Me” (airing on September 3rd!) The Marceline one had to change because she obviously can’t have short sleeves or go barefoot… but luckily I never have to remember that ever again.

It’s been a long while (about 5 months!), but we’re finally back on the 19th to air our season finale… and then go on hiatus again. But then I think we’ll be back early next year for season 8. Lots of cool stuff coming up, but it’s hard to pick and choose, cuz starting with Preboot and Reboot, everything starts rolling into one big snowball that rolls and rolls all the way to the end, which is what we’re all working on right now. Steve and I are wrapping up our final board EVER, and it’s great- one of my favorites. It feels like we got to put everything we’ve learned up to now into it. A real nice note to end on.

Exciting news: I won a new Emmy on Sunday- this one for Individual Achievement in Animation for my storyboarding work on Adventure Time’s “Stakes pt. 8: The Dark Cloud”.
In the spirit of the golden rule, I once again kept my acceptance speech super brief. But now, to this entirely voluntary audience, a sentiment:
If you never much wanted to do anything else, how can you tell how difficult your journey’s been? Was it a supreme act of committed, courageous, focused, striving will, or a meek and passive act of commitment to stasis and safety? (Don’t answer that, it’s a rhetorical question!)
Anyway, thanks to the all the rest of the crew and my mom and dad and sisters and all my friends and my brother Pete, and to my pals Ako and Seo, through whom, vicariously, the ceremony was just as exciting as last year’s.

Hey!
As usual, we’re back from hiatus again, only now we’re on Saturdays. This time it’s The Hall of Egress, the second episode that I conceived and wrote all on my own, more or less, after Walnuts & Rain. Initially I’d dismissed the idea for this one as irredeemably dark and unpleasant, but I kept tinkering with it til it finally worked, IMHO. Hope y'all dig it.

WE’RE BACK
It’s been five whole months, but we’re finally back on the air every day this week. Starting it all off is “Bonnie & Neddy”, written & storyboarded by Steve & me. Lots of cool stuff on the way, especially the “Stakes” miniseries that starts airing on the 16th, which came out really great, I gotta say. So yeah, you can skip summer school this year, cuz Adventure Time is back. Adventure Time is all you need.

New Adventure Time, Walnuts & Rain- Thursday, March 5th, probably at 7, but maybe at 7:30, who knows!?
After “The Visitor”, Steve and I took a little partnership detour to both do a board on our own.
We’d each had an episode idea we’d been wanting to work on, and had both been mulling them over for so long that they’d gotten really fleshed out already in our heads- so it just made a lot of sense to finish them up ourselves.
This one, “Walnuts & Rain” is mine. I was fiddling with this outline on and off for months before boarding it (though it underwent some real worthwhile changes once I brought it to the writers room) so… I’m real attached to it. What can I say? I hope y'all dig it!
Anyway, I think Steve and I were both really invigorated by this experiment, cause I’m really especially excited about both the episodes that came out of it. So check ‘em out! Steve’s is coming up in a few weeks and it’s awesome.
